FORMER president Joseph Ejercito Estrada has been sent back home after fully recovering with a scary bout of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid) and pneumonia.
He was discharged from the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan City on Monday afternoon.
“Hindi ko po mabigkas kung papaano ko ipapaabot ang taos pusong pasasalamat sa inyong pagdasal sa aking kalagayan (I don’t know how to express my heartfelt gratitude to those who prayed for my condition),” Estrada said in a video that was shared by former senator “Jose” Jinggoy Estrada.
“We would like to express our gratitude to his doctors for their expertise and care,” Jinggoy said on Facebook.
Jinggoy’s half-brother, former senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito also expressed his gratitude to well-wishers.
“Thank you everyone for the prayers and well wishes when my father was hospitalized and in critical condition,” he said on Twitter. “Your prayers worked wonders!”
The former president was rushed to the said hospital on March 28, 2021 and was tested positive for Covid-19.
His condition worsened to the point he needed the aid of a respirator after getting a bout with pneumonia. He eventually recovered.
