Breaking! PH Covid updates: confirmed COVID-19 cases now 30,052, deaths 1,169, recoveries 7,893

The Philippines recorded 653 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sunday bringing the country’s total to 30,052.

“As of 4PM today, June 21, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at  30,052,” said  DOH COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #099.

“In addition to the 415  fresh cases, 238 late cases were also reported today. Today’s fresh cases are based on the daily accomplishment reports submitted by only 45 out of 59 current operational labs,” said the DOH.

“DOH likewise announces 243 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 7,893,” they said.

Another 19 died from the illness, bringing COVID-19’s death toll in the Philippines to 1,169.

Of the 19 reported deaths, 15 (79%) occurred from June 03-16, 2020. One duplicate was removed from total case count. The total cases reported may be subject to change as these numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.

Of the confirmed cases, 415 were deemed ‘fresh’ where test results were released on the patient within the last 3 days, while 238 were classified as ‘late’ where test results were released 4 or more days ago./Stacy Ang
