Philippine Navy vessel BRP Davao del Sur (LD 602) left Manila Monday morning to ferry locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and transport medical supplies and personal protective equipment to the ports of Iloilo and Cebu.
The Navy said a total of 402 LSIs and three repatriates from India and Sri Lanka, all bound for Iloilo, were onboard the vessel.
The Navy said the LSIs are allowed to disembark at the port of Iloilo because Cebu City temporarily banned the entry of the LSIs as enhanced community quarantine is being enforced in the area.
Meanwhile, a total of 2,508 boxes of PPEs and medical supplies will be delivered to the Office of Civil Defense in Cebu.
They said these will be used by frontliners in the region.
The vessel is expected to arrive at the Iloilo port in the afternoon of June 23, Tuesday./Stacy Ang
