The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported an increase of 163 new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the country, bringing the total number of positive cases to 13,597.

“As of 4PM today, May 22, 2020, the Department of Health reports 163 new cases (PH13435-PH13597) of COVID-19. NCR with additional 91 new cases, Region 7 with 56 additional new cases and 16 new cases from different Regions. The total number of cases in the country is now at 13,597,”  said DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin #069.

The DOH also reported 11 new fatalities, bringing the death toll to 857.

The DOH also announced 92 new recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 3,092./Stacy Ang
