The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday reported an increase of 224 positive cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the Philippines, bringing the total to 12,942.

“As of 4PM today, May 19, 2020, the Department of Health reports 224 new cases (PH12719-PH12942) of COVID-19. NCR with additional 174 new cases, Region 7 with 17 additional new cases and 33 new cases from different Regions. The total number of cases in the country is now at 12,942,” said DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin #066.

Deaths increased by 6 new fatalities, bringing the death toll to 837.

DOH also announced 114 new recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 2,843./Stacy Ang
