Manila’s COVID-19 positive cases increases to 50, deaths to 6, recovered still 2

The number of confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases went up to 50 on Saturday in Manila, data from the Manila Health Department (MHD) showed.

The data, as of 5 p.m. Saturday,  also showed that those who died from COVID-19  rose to six.

The number of recoveries remained unchanged at two.

A total of  192 are persons under investigation (PUIs).

Last Friday, the total COVID-19 cases in Manila numbered 44, while the death toll was at four.

Manila City government authorities are already conducting contact tracing to identify the persons who may have had contact with the COVID-19 cases.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso reminded Manila residents to take the COVID-19 threat seriously and to stay home.

The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday said the country’s total COVID-19 cases has reached 1,075 cases  as more testing is being done.

The death toll is at 68 while total recoveries numbered 35.

As of Saturday, the DOH has tested a total of 2,686 individuals. Of these, 920 have tested negative and 667 have pending results./Stacy Ang
