The van carrying actress  Kim Chiu  was shot at by two  unidentified  gunmen onboard a motorcycle in Quezon City Wednesday morning.

Chiu was on her way to a taping, with her personal assistant and driver. They were unharmed.

Chiu was on her way to the taping of her television series “Love Thy Woman” when the assailants fired at her van at least six times at the corner of Katipunan and CP Garcia avenues in Diliman around 6:15 a.m., said her driver Wilfredo Taperla.

“Di namin napansin na may putukan sa likod, dito pala sa amin pinatama. Kami pala ang pinapaputukan (We did not immediately notice that there were gunshots from behind, it turned out we were the ones being shot at.),” said Taperla.

They were about to turn left at CP Garcia Avenue from Katipunan when they heard gunshots.

They first thought they were not the target but the white SUV beside them.

It was then that they saw two men on board a motorcycle shooting at them.

Police said six shots were fired at the actress’ vehicle.

“Wala akong idea kung bakit nangyari ito,” Taperla said.

Police is now investigating the incident.

The Quezon City Police District said the suspects fled towards Katipunan Avenue, Old Balara.

One bullet pierced the van and hit the spot where Chiu normally studies her drama script.

Chiu was lying down in a different part of the vehicle during the attack.

Chiu was shaken, and had emphasized during their phone call to her friends that she had no enemy.

The actress, however, still proceeded to her taping./Stacy Ang
