MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine National Polo Team bags silver medal in the 2020 All Asia Cup held from February 2-9 at the VS Sports Club in Thailand.

Amidst all of their shortcomings in their training program at home due to ashfall brought about by the Taal Volcano Eruption and the non-use of their purchased horses from Argentina, the Philippine National Polo Team managed to get a silver medal in the 5th All Asia Cup.

The Philippine quintet of 1-PACMAN Partylist Representative Mikee Romero, Anthony Garcia, Adrian Garcia and Robert Esguerra, bowed to host squad Thailand 4 – 7 1/2 to take home the runner-up finish in the finals held last Sunday

It was the second time that the Pinoy polo players fell to the Thais, as they hand over the local bets’ first defeat, 4-6 in the preliminary round.

The Pinoys bounce back after winning over Brunei, 10-9, followed by a 8-5 victory over Indonesia, 8 – 5 1/2 entering the semifinals.

This is their first tournament for the national squad since the country’s hosting of the Southeast Asian Games last year where they earned a silver in the 0-2 Goals and a bronze in the 4-6 Goals events.
