MANILA — A militant teachers’ organization on Sunday demanded from the Philippine National Police (PNP) to stop its surveillance on teachers’ activities.

“In an on-going teachers’ seminar on unionism currently held in Baguio City, ACT received a report that police agents are monitoring the teachers’ activities,” the Alliance of Concerned  Teachers (ACT) said in a statement.

Last Friday,  a crew from the catering service in charge for the event was approached by a state agent allegedly from police station 3 of Baguio City  asking to let the police to be in charge of their catering services.

Earlier on Saturday, the crew was approached again and was asked if ACT has plans of conducting protest actions.

ACT also received report that state agents are consistently roaming the vicinity for surveillance. (Stacy  Ang/IA)
