Four Chinese nationals were arrested Thursday for kidnaping and serious illegal detention by National Bureau of Investigation operatives in Manila. They were presented to the media by NBI officials (seated, from left) Nick Suarez, Ferdinand Lavin, and Czar Eric Nuqui.

NBI Director Dante Gierran identified the subjects as Chen Zhimin, Lou Canfeng, Li Jai Huang, and Wang Yiping. The suspects were arrested in an operation which stemmed from a tip of a Chinese informant working as an offshore gaming employee or online games.

The case arose from the kidnapping and serious illegal detention of Mr. Han Yang Liu, offshore gaming employee, who was detained against his will in a hotel located at Gen. Malvar St. Manila.

The kidnappers allegedly demanded P200,000 from the victim and P600,000 from two others who were also subsequently rescued by NBI operators as a result of the arrest of the suspects who later underwent inquest proceedings. (BENJIE CUARESMA/IAMIGO/Currentph.com)
