MANILA, Philippines — As prerequisite for job applicants, candidates must first secure a police clearance that would show and prove that he or she has no standing criminal record base on the PNP Database.
Applying for one is no easy job nor a walk in the park as Police Clearance applicants at the Manila Police District (MPD) along UN Avenue, Manila fall in on a kilometric line that accordingly starts as early as 5am until office closes at 5 in the afternoon rain por shine.

“Taon-taon po ganito lagi ang haba ng pila at sana naman bigyan ng kahit ilang taon ang validity ng clearance namin at di na rin kami masyadong magastusan pa” lamented one factory worker who returns and queues up again after six (6) months to renew his Police Clearance.
