Amid strained geopolitical relations between the Philippines and China, the Philippine Coast Guard officially welcomed China’s Coast Guard at Manila Bay on Tuesday, 14 January 2020, considered as a historic first for both PCG and the CCG.

The national guardians of the sea organizations will be holding talks about enhancing and coordination on Maritime Search and Rescue, Maritime Law Enforcement, Maritime Safety, Marine Enviromental Protection and Maritime Security.
