MANILA, Philippines — Anti-drug operatives have seized 435 grams of crystal meth or shabu in two separate buy-bust operations in Las Pinas and Dasmarinas, Cavite over the weekend.
In Las Pinas, police confiscated 300 grams of the illegal drugs suspected to be “shabu” with an estimated street value of P2,040,000 in a drug buy-bust operation on Saturday.
Police reported Sunday that they arrested suspect Daniel Fernandez and recovered 50 pieces of caliber .45 ammunition in a buy-bust operation at about 9:20 a.m. Saturday in Rosendo St., Saint Joseph Subd., Brgy. Pulang Lupa 2, Las Piñas City.
One of the suspects, identified as Edgardo Enriquez, remains at large, the police added.
Fernandez was temporarily detained at Las Piñas City Police Station Custodial Facility while charges are being prepared for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” and RA 10591 otherwise known as “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.”
Meanwhile, in Dasmarinas, Cavite, police also arrested two suspected drug pushers in a buy-bust operation Saturday evening, police said Sunday.
Recovered from the operation were 135 grams or P980,000-worth of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth), said Cavite police chief Col. Marlon Santos.
In a text message, Santos said police intelligence carried out the sting operation around 11 p.m. in Barangay (village) Datu Esmael.
Suspects, Akmad Saripada, a 19-year-old student, and companion Jay Gravoso, 23, sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover policeman, prompting their arrest.
The suspects were detained for charges of illegal drug sale, he said. (JGo/Current/ph.com)
