MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) clarified Thursday, 28 November 2019, that not a single Filipino suffered the slightest injury in the earthquake that shook Albania on Tuesday.
“The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), through its Philippine Honorary Consulate in Tirana, reports that no Filipino died or was injured as a result of the 6.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Albania early morning of Tuesday, 26 November 2019,” the agency stated.
Based on the report, 21 individuals were killed in the quake.
“The Philippine Embassy in Rome, which has jurisdiction over Albania, is in constant communication with the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Tirana and the Filipino community leaders in Albania to gather the latest developments on the incident,” the DFA added. (Cate Pallarco/IAMIGO/CNS)
