PCSO doled out P2.8M in aids to orphans

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has provided more than P2.8 million in aids to orphans, homeless and abused youth.

PCSO General Manager Royina M. Garma personally went to Tacloban City recently and provided P2,890,500 worth of checks for three different charity institutions.

The Orphanage of the Virgin of Guadalupe Foundation, Inc. in Sorsogon which serves as the home and provides security, care and support to the 80 orphaned homeless, received from PCSO P876,000 while SOS Children’s Village Calbayog, Inc. providing family-like care, youth care and educational support to 94 youths, got P1,029,000.

Meanwhile, the Western Samar Development Foundation, Inc. helping 90 sexually abused children also receive P985,500 from PCSO.

Currently, 20 charitable institutions around the country are among those being supported by the PCSO under the program. (Gelica Paulo/IAMIGO/CNS)
