NCRPO chief says ‘Ninja Cops’ will be thing of the past under his watch

MANILA, Philippines — National Capital Regional Police Office chief Brigadier General Debold Sinas recycling of confiscated illegal by so-called “Ninja Cops” will be a thing of the past under his watch.

Sinas made the bold statement Sunday when he guested at the Balitaan sa Maynila media forum in Sampaloc, Manila.

Sinas said the government and Philippine National Police is taking all possible measures to solve the sweeping drug menace in the country.

According to Sinas, there will be no more drug-recycling incidents anymore because the government is providing everything that the operatives need for a drug operation.

Aside from that is the fact that police personnel are now receiving salaries double than their previous payslips.

It was also gathered, that aside from buy-bust money, anti-drug operatives also receive incentives in drug operations.

Sinas acknowledged that the recycling of confiscated drugs has been going on for a long time and now is the time to cleanse it and change the image of the police.

“Hindi na kailangan pang maglabas ng personal money ang mga pulis para sa buy-bust, ang HQ ang maglalaan gayundin sa incentives na ibibigay sa mga nagtrabahong pulis,” Sinas said.

However, the HQ and NCRPO would still monitor whether police operations are legitimate to ensure there that there will be no corruption. (Gelica Paulo/IAMIGO/CNS)
