PHI salvaged Bronze in the Southeast Asia Tchoukball Championship

MANILA, Philippines – Philippine National Men’s Junior Tchoukball Team salvaged a second runner-up finish on Sunday, 17 November 2019, at the 6th Southeast Asia Tchoukball Championships held in Bangkok, Thailand.

The National Team posted a 3-2 slate throughout the tournament, with victories over Vietnam, 49-26, Thailand Team A, 49-48 and Thailand Team B, 56-35. They also absorbed losses at the hands of Singapore, 27-56, and Malaysia, 46-48.

Their bronze medal finish comes after the 9th place showing of their Senior counterparts at the World Tchoukball Championships in Malaysia last August.

Tchoukball Association of the Philippines will send its Butuan-based national team to Sanya City in China to compete in the Asia Pacific Beach Tchoukball Championships from November 28-December 2.

Meantime, Singapore successfully retained the Men’s and Women’s titles of the five nation-tournament which is equivilent to the Southeast Asian Games. (Lloyd Tagbago/IAMIGO/CNS)
