A Texas couple has been named by the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest living married couple on Earth.

John Henderson is 106 – he will turn 107 next month and Charlotte Henderson is 105, the couple has a combined age of 211 years.

In December 2019, the Texas couple will be celebrating 80 years of marriage together.

John and Charlotte met back in 1934 at the University of Texas, Charlotte was studying to become a teacher, while John was a guard for the football team.

The couple get married in 1939 during the Great Depression. They reportedly only spent $7 on the hotel room for their honeymoon.
