CDO Foodsphere founder ‘Boss Pepe’ passes away at 78

MANILA, Philippines — The founder and co-owner of CDO Foodsphere Inc., Jose “Boss Pepe” Ong, has passed away Thursday morning (14 November 2019). He was 78.

The company announced his death and didn’t report the cause of his death but said the founder died peacefully.

A statement from CDO said: “Boss Pepe” was a loving father to his family and the company.

“He was our coach, our rock — always inspiring us with his pioneering ideas, his passion and resilience; always there to remind us that nothing is impossible. He will forever be remembered with love and fondness,” the food company said in a statement.

CDO Foodsphere Inc. is a major food meat processing company that manufactures and distributes a wide selection of food products like Bibbo, Holiday, San Marino, Highlands, and Danes.

Started in 1975, the family-owned company’s main office is located in Valenzuela, Metro Manila, while its manufacturing plants are situated in some parts of Luzon like the one in Malvar, Batangas. (Cate Pallarco/IAMIGO/CNS)
