PH team dominates PSL Sparkle in Super Cup

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Womens’ Volleyball team remained undefeated after a quick three-set work over Team Sparkle, 25-12, 25-18, 25-18, in the Philippine Superliga Super Cup on Thursday, 07 November 2019, at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

The national team is honing up for the upcoming Southeast Asian (SEA) Games that will take place in the country later this month.

Ces Molina spearheaded the PWV’s offense in the absence of ace hitter Kalei Mau, who suffered a strained neck muscle.

Molina produced a game-high 17 points built on 12 spikes, two blocks, and three aces, along with 11 digs.

Jovelyn Gonzaga and Eya Laure also finished in double-digits, having 13 and 12 points, respectively, while Rhea Dimaculangan orchestrated the offense with 16 excellent sets.

Mina Aganon led anew for Team Sparkle with seven points and six digs.

The toughest battle of the Philippine Team will happen on Friday night against the University of Tsukuba, the Japanese inter-collegiate champion which also swept both PSL selection teams Shine and Sparkle. (Lloyd Tagbago/IAMIGO/CNS)
