The whole state of California in the United States is now under red alert after raging bush fires reached many private homes, forcing residents to evacuate, including former California governor Arnold Schwazenegger and NBA superstar Lebron James.
The state-wide emergency began after brush fires coming from the Getty Center arts complex in Los Angeles spread to about 500 acres or about 220 hectares near the homes of the city’s celebrities.
More than 3,000 LA residents were forced to evacuate. Authorities say these fires are expected to reach Northern California where it threatens to affect the lives of about 180,000 residents especially those in the Sonoma County area.
Schools in these areas were already closed as tens of thousands of homes remain under extreme threat.
