Student Activists stage a protest-rally for the farmers

STUDENT ACTIVISTS representing farmers of Central Luzon and Cagayan Valley, stage a protest-rally at the Welcome Rotunda in Quezon City on Monday, 21 October 2019, with ferocious-looking bird effigy as backdrop. Notice the “Aves Rapina” as what they called it, owns the head of President Rodrigo Duterte, who according to them “destroys the weak and powerless.” They also assailed the “sham” agrarian reform law, lack of due process, censorship, tyranny and extrajudicial killings. The “artwork,” which they later burned in historic Mendiola, was made on the collective effort of the Concerned Artists of the Philippines, National Network of Agrarian Reform Advocates – Youth (NNARA-Youth), Sama-samang Artista para sa Agrikultura (SAKA) and Sining na Naglilingkod sa Bayan (Sinagbayan) and RESBAK.
