Just to prove to all that they don’t recycle confiscated drugs, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in the Cordillera region burned illegal marijuana worth more than 20.4 million pesos seized from drug pushers in the provinces of Benguet and Kalinga.

Police reports state that more than 311,000 pesos worth of Marijuana plants and seedlings were seized from several individuals in Bakun Town in Benguet from September 26 to 27. Earlier, 212,000 pesos worth of the same illegal plant substances were found in Kubungan Town.

All in all, the PDEA reports that they destroyed 80,000 of marijuana plants and about 30 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves confiscated in various operations in Tanudan and Tinglayan towns in Kalinga province. In Kalinga province alone, a total of 19.9 million pesos worth of contraband were seized.

Curiously though, not one drug lord or street level drug pusher was arrested.
