Employees working at the Senate will be given a one-time P50,000 inflation allowance for 2023, eliciting applause and cheers.
Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri made the announcement during the flag-raising ceremony of the Upper Chamber of Congress.
Zubiri said that the inflation assistance will grow multifold from P12,200 to P50,000.
Of course, charity begins at home kaya sa Senado, we made sure that all 3,000 employees have inflation assistance,” he said.
Likewise, Zubiri said that the Senate will increase their medical assistance to their employees from P30,000 to P50,000.
He said these incentives were sourced from the Senate’s savings.
So ang pakiusap ko nga kanina na sana we spend less on paper, we spend less on overtime para maibalik din sa mga empleyado itong savings in terms of incentives and bonuses,” Zubiri said.
