Editor of Maharlika TV responsible for Fake news about PRRD has been Relieved

Editor of Maharlika TV who posted an article on Wednesday night claiming President Rodrigo Roa Duterte suffered a mild heart attack was relieved off his duty, said the top management of the news agency.

The news agency said that the associate editor did not check the accuracy of the article and just posted it, without getting any clearance from both the managing editor and editor in chief.

Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar said in his Facebook post on Wednesday night that the story that was published was “Fake News” and urge the public not to believe it while sharing the screenshot of the Maharlika TV Report.

Contradicting the rumors about the President’s Health, Senator Christopher Lawrence Bong Go shared some photos of the President working in his office at Malacañan Palace in Manila.

“As easy as it may be for some people to blame the government for any mishap, even the surge in COVID-19 cases, these attempts to wish and to ponder ill intent, and worst death to anyone, especially to the President of our country, are foul and tasteless, even if meant in jest,” Andanar said on Thursday, April 8.
