New-look historic Jones Bridge launched

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Vice Mayor Shiela Honey Lacuna lead the launching of the new-look historic Jones Bridge linking Intramuros and Binondo, Manila Sunday night (24 November 2019). Jerry Acuzar, New San Jose Builders chair and owner of Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar also graced the occasion together with Dra. Vicky Belo, Lugene Ang, president of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as the new-look Jone Bridge breaks into the night with hundreds of enchanting lights and all that jazz.

Renovation budget of which was pegged at P20-million city government’s Public Information Office (PIO) PIO head Julius Leonen said.

Jones Bridge was named after William Atkinson Jones in honor of the lawmaker who authored the Philippine Autonomy Act of 1916, also called the “Jones Law.”

Among other huge film shooting venue, it may be recalled in 2012, the bridge, which crosses Pasig River, became the site of the filming of the Hollywood hit movie “The Bourne Legacy” starring Jeremy Renner. (Jimmy Heramis/BENJIE CUARESMA/IAMIGO/CNS)
