Aquino: ‘Robredo will fail if she leads drug war’

MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Director General Aaron Aquino on Monday, 04 November 2019 said Vice President Leni Robredo doesn’t know anything about illegal drugs and she might greatly fail if she will lead President Duterte’s drug war campaign.

Aquino claims Robredo cannot take over the government’s campaign against illegal drugs and she would surely fail if she accepts President Rodrigo Duterte’s offer to be the country’s drug czar.

In an interview by the CNN Philippines’ The Source, on Monday, November 4, Aquino said “If you ask me, she will fail.”

Aquino is the longest-serving PDEA chief under Duterte administration and by the law, Aquino is the chief implementer of the anti-drug campaign.

Aquino says he has no faith in the Vice President’s ability to oversee the massive law enforcement campaign on drugs as she doesn’t have any experience.

Aside from this, Aquino told CNS “she (Robredo) doesn’t know anything about illegal drugs. Wala siyang kalam-alam sa ilegal na droga.”

Unlike Robredo, President Duterte “knows the ins and outs of the illegal drug trade system as he has served as a prosecutor in Davao City for decades” Aquino said. (Cate Pallarco/IAMIGO/CNS)
