The Philippines hosted the second leg of ASEAN Grand Prix from October 4-6 and finished with bronze as Indonesia silenced the home crowd with an emphatic win in 4 sets, 25-21, 25-17, 21-25, 25-21, to bag the silver medal on Sunday, October 6.

Jovelyn Gonzaga and Alyssa Valdez top scored for the Philippine team as they finished the game with 14 and 13 points apiece against Indonesia. Majoy Baron who finished with 9 points receives the Best Middle Blocker Award, while Dawn Macandili won the Best Libero Award right after their game against Indonesia.

The Philippine Team started their Grand Prix campaign with a win against Vietnam, 25-21, 25-23, 25-21, and followed with a loss against the powerhouse Thailand Team, 12-25, 16-25, 10-25, finishing with 1-2 record that is just enough to take home the bronze medal.

The Shaq Delos Santos squad started their training camp in Thailand last month, September 7 to 18, for a 12 day training preparation for the ASEAN Grand Prix which will also serve as their preparation for South East Asian (SEA) Games as the Philippines will be the host country for the said event.
