Victory Liner to Consolidate Selected Trips Amid Rising Fuel and Operating Costs

MANILA, Philippines — Provincial bus operator Victory Liner is set to consolidate selected trips when necessary as the company grapples with the continued increase in fuel prices and other operating expenses.

The company said the adjustments are part of efforts to keep its operations sustainable while continuing to provide transportation services to the public.

According to Victory Liner, rising fuel prices, vehicle maintenance costs, personnel expenses, and other operational requirements have placed increasing pressure on the provincial bus industry. With operating costs continuing to climb, bus operators are being forced to reassess their schedules and find ways to manage expenses without completely disrupting essential transportation services.

As part of the adjustments, Victory Liner’s online booking facility will also be temporarily unavailable while the company reviews and modifies its trip schedules.

The temporary suspension of online booking may cause inconvenience to passengers, particularly those who regularly use the platform to plan and reserve their trips. However, the company said the measure is necessary as it reorganizes its operations in response to the changing conditions.

Victory Liner emphasized that it is not alone in facing these difficulties. Like other provincial bus operators, the company is working to balance increasing operational costs with the need to keep fares and transportation services accessible to the public.

The company said it is doing everything possible to keep costs manageable, protect the jobs of its employees, and keep its buses on the road.

Every trip requires significant resources, including fuel, maintenance, drivers and other personnel, terminal operations, and other expenses. With these costs increasing, operators face the challenge of ensuring that every journey remains financially sustainable enough to support continued operations.

For passengers, however, these operational changes could mean fewer trips on selected routes and adjustments to existing schedules. Victory Liner said it understands the inconvenience these changes may create and is asking passengers for patience and understanding while the company works through the adjustments.

The company also called for continued government support for the public transportation industry, which plays an important role in connecting communities, workers, students, families, and businesses across the country.

Victory Liner said sustainable support for the sector is important not only for transport operators but also for the thousands of workers whose livelihoods depend on the continued operation of public transportation.

Despite the challenges, the company said it remains committed to serving the traveling public and finding ways to keep its services operating.

“Mahirap ang panahon, pero patuloy kaming gagawa ng paraan para makapaglingkod,” the company said, underscoring its commitment to continue serving passengers despite the difficult operating environment.

For now, Victory Liner is asking passengers for their patience as the company adjusts its schedules and temporarily suspends its online booking facility.

The company said it will continue working to keep its operations sustainable while maintaining transportation services for the public in the days and years ahead.
