Senate Commission on Appointments started it’s First Plenary Session

The first plenary session of the Commission on appointments of the senate was presided by Senate President Francis Chiz Escudero himself.

Senators took oath which marks significant phase in the country’s constitutional reform process.

Among the highlighted members was Senator Joel Villanueva who took oath as one of the Majority leaders of the Commission of Appointments along with Ako Bicol Partylist Rep. Alfredo Garbin Jr.

Meanwhile, Senator Risa Hontiveros took oath as the new Minority Leader of the Commission on Appointments.

The Senate also also also it’s new Secretary in the person of Joey C. Flaminiano while retired police general Nicasio Javier Radovan Jr. as its new Sergeant-at-Arms.

Under the 1987 Constitution, the CA shall be constituted 30 days after the Senate of the Philippines and the House of Representatives are organized.
