Barangay at SK Election sa 2025 Pinapatigil, Termino Pinalalawig!

INIREKOMENDA ni Senadora Imee Marcos ang pagsasagawa ng Barangay at SK election sa May 2029 imbes na sa susunod na taon kasunod din nito nais ng senador na palawigin ng hanggang na taon ang isang termino ng barangay at SK.
Sa ilalim ng Senate Bill Number 2816 na inisponsor ni Marcos nais niyang maka-upo ang mga opisyal ng Barangay at SK ng dalawang termino na tig -aanim na taon bawat termino.
Naniniwala si Marcos na sa sandaling mapalawig ang termino ng mga Barangay at SK officials tiyak na matatapos nito ang kanyang mga plano at proyekto sa kanilangh nasasakupang barangay.
Aminado si Marcos na bilang dating kabuuang pinuno ng mga kabataang barangay ay nakita niyang hindi talaga sapat ang kasalukuyang taon para  sa termino ng isang halal na SK at Barangay upang higit na maipagkaloob niya ang mga programa sa kanyang nasasakupan.
“With the longer fixed term, the barangay  officials and members of the SK  will deepen their understanding of both national and local issues, as well as implement their own medium and long term initiative  at the barangay level,” ani Marcos sa kanyang speech sa plenaryo ng senado.
Umaasa din si Marcos na dahil sa kanyang panukala ay tiyak na hindi maapektuhan ng mga Local Government Units (LGUs) ang pagpapatakbo ng mga opisyal ng barangay sa kanilang nasasakupan sinuman ang tumakbo o manalo sa tuwing magkakaroon ng loval election kakampi man o hindi ng naka-upong barangay officials.
Bukod iginiit pa ni Marcos na mabibigyan din ng sapat na panahon ang Commission On Election (Comelec) upang matiyak na magkaroon ng maayos at mapayapang halalan ng barangay at SK.
