PNP designates five senior officers to new posts

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Police General Benjamin C Acorda, Jr implemented a minor reorganization of senior police officials occupying key positions in the Directorial Staff and Regional Police Offices.

Five senior officials were designated to new posts effective May 2, 2023.

Police Brigadier General Jose Melencio C Nartatez, Jr was named Officer-In-Charge of the Directorate for Intelligence, while Police Brigadier General Rommel Francisco D Marbil was designated Officer-In-Charge of the Directorate for Comptrollership. It can be recalled that the Directorate for Intelligence was vacated last week with the recent appointment of its former Director, as the new Chief, PNP.

Meanwhile, Police Brigadier General Vincent S Calanoga will serve as the Acting Regional Director of Police Regional Office 8 in Eastern Visayas,  and Police Brigadier General Roger L Quesada is designated Acting Deputy Regional Director for Administration for Police Regional Office 5 in Bicol Region.

Police Brigadier General Limuel E Obon has been appointed as the Acting Chief of the Human Rights Affairs Office in the Office of the Chief, Philippine National Police.

In a statement, the Chief, Philippine National Police, Police General Benjamin C Acorda, Jr expressed confidence in the new appointees, saying “I am confident that these new Officers-in-Charge and Acting Directors will bring their expertise and experience to their respective positions and lead their units with utmost professionalism, integrity, and dedication to service.”

These new appointments reflect the PNP’s commitment to ensuring effective leadership and management across various units and offices.

The PNP remains steadfast to upholding its mandate of serving and protecting the Filipino people with utmost enthusiasm, commitment, and respect for human rights.
