Maynilad Water Services Inc. on Sunday said that customers in several areas in Metro Manila and Cavite should expect a week-long water service interruption that began this Sunday.

According to Maynilad, among those affected areas include parts of Las Piñas City, Muntinlupa City, Parañaque City, Pasay City, Bacoor City, and Imus City.

It began Sunday, April 16, and is expected go last until April 23.

The advisory said that water services in some of these areas are expected to normalize by April 22.

The water concessionaire advised residents to check their official social media accounts for the schedules.

Ito also noted that the water service interruption was due to the ongoing intensified cleaning of filters at the Putatan Water Treatment Plants, according to Maynilad.

“The turbidity level of the raw water in Laguna Lake has been gradually decreasing since the Amihan season ended, but the process is taking longer than anticipated. Due to this, we have to extend our maintenance activities at the plants,” Maynilad said.

“Normal operations will be restored once the cleaning of the filters is completed,” the water concessionaire added.

Maynilad also told their patrons to store enough water when supply is available.

They also suggested to let the water flow out briefly until it clears when the water service resumes.
