Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Friday dismissed rumors that he was the “secret candidate” of the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) for president in 2022.

This, after Senator Christoper Lawrence “Bong” Go killed rumors he was secretly backing Domagoso for president in 2022.

Domagoso, the standard bearer of the Aksyon Demokratiko party, said whoever circulated such rumors that he was in talks Go for a united front was “high on drugs.”

“I thought drugs were prohibited? What did that person took, please share with me,” Domagoso said.

Domagoso’s running mate for 2022 is  health advocate Dr. Willie Ong.

Go dismissed as “fake news” the rumors that circulated on Friday that he was secretly backing the bid of Domagoso.

“(That is) obviously fake news. It’s a waste of time to react to that fake news,” Go said in a press statement partly in Filipino.

Even Lito Banayo, the campaign manager of Domagoso, dismissed the rumors.

Go was reacting to Politiko’s Sept. 30 report that he “was forced to change his current priorities and shift to supporting a formidable alternative candidate like Moreno.”

According to the report, Go was purportedly in “constant” communication with Domagoso’s camp to form a “potential alliance” with the presidential aspirant.
