Man claiming to have Covid cure files bid for presidency at Comelec

A certain Laurencio Yulaga are among the individuals who filed their certificates of candicacy (COCs) for president during the first day of the filing of COCs at the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Claiming to be a graduate of Harvard, he said he has the cure for Covid-19 using high-voltage electricity. Yulaga belongs to the Philippine Green Republican Party.

The others who have filed their COCs for president on Friday are Dave Aguila, Jose Montemayor, Leysander Ordenes, and Edmundo Rubi.

They share the distinction along with Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao for filing their COCs for the top position of the land on the very first day of the COC filing at the Comelec. The deadline for the filing of candicacies is October 8.

For vice president,  former Manila mayor and Buhay party-list Rep. Lito Atienza on Friday filed his COC as the running mate of Pacquiao.

And a certain Rochelle David also filed her COC for vice president in 2022.

In the next few days, the Comelec will like receive the COCs of the following whose parties have officially declared their candidacies for 2022, and which they have also accepted: Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson (president) and Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto 3rd (vice president) under Partido Reporma; and Manila Mayor Franciso “Isko Moreno” Domagoso (president) and Dr. Willie Ong (vice president) under Aksyon Demokratiko.

Former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has yet to confirm his plans for 2022 although two parties have already declared him as their presidential bet.
