Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio emerged as the top pick for president for 2022 based on the latest survey by Pulse Asia.

For vice president, Senate President Vicente Sotto emerged as the top pick for 2022. Pulse Asia said Duterte-Carpio is the most preferred candidate for president with 20 percent of Filipino adults backing her. However, the 20-percent rating is lower than her 28-percent rating she got in June this year.

The latest survey was conducted September 6 to September 11, 2021.

Coming in second with 15 percent is former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso with 13 percent, and Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao with 12 percent.

The others who got ratings from 6 percent to 9 percent were Senator Grace Poe, Vice President Leni Robredo, and Senator Panfilo Lacson.

For vice president, Sotto topped the latest Pulse Asia survey with 25 percent of Filipinos expressing support for his 2022 bid.

President Rodrigo Duterte followed Sotto but with a distant 14 percent, followed by Moreno and Marcos with 12 percent each, and Pacquiao and Senator Christopher “Bong” Go with 7 percent each.

The latest nationwide survey of Pulse Asia was based on face-to-face interviews of 2,400 adult Filipinos 18 years old and above.
