The Aksyon Demokratiko party of Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and the Liberal Party unveiled part of their senatorial line up for the 2022 polls.

Aksyon Demokratiko said it has taken under wings for 2022 Muslim civic leader Samira Gutoc and radio host and entrepreneur Carl Balita. Domagoso is the party’s standard bearer for 2022 alongside health advocate Dr. Willie Ong.

Meanwhile, the Liberal Party, which has yet to announce its standard bearers for 2022, has identified five individuals who will be part of its senatorial slate, which includes three members of the Senate.

Gutoc ran under the “Otso Deretcho” ticket of the opposition in 2019 and lost. However, she boasts of a number of accomplishments like being a member of the Regional Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) and the Bangsamoro Transition Commission that drafted the Bangsamoro Basic Law.

Meanwhile, Balita is also a broadcaster and educator. He has numerous businesses including the Dr. Carl E. Balita Review Center.

The Liberal Party has initially endorsed former senator Benigno “Bam” Aquino 4th, Senator Francisco “Kiko” Pangilinan and Leila de Lima for its initial line up of senatorial candidates from its ranks, and Senator Risa Hontiveros and human rights advocate and lawyer Chel Diokno as guest senatorial bets.
