QC administers more than 3 million Covid vaccine doses

The Quezon City government has breached the 3-million mark in Covid-19 doses it has administered.

As of Wednesday, the city government has already administered a total of 3.035 million Covid-19 vaccines, with 1.755 million individuals getting their first dose and 1.281 million listed as fully vaccinated.

A total of 93,730 individuals have received the single dose Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine.

“Sa kabuuan, 1,374,562 o 80.86 percent ng target adult population ang maituturing na fully vaccinated (In total, 1,374,562 or 80.86 percent of our target population are now considered fully vaccinated),” the city government said on its Facebook page.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte reiterated the importance of receiving the Covid-19 vaccines, regardless of its brand amid the highly transmissible Delta variant.

In an earlier interview, Belmonte said vaccine does not guarantee that a person will no longer get infected with Covid-19, but in case a vaccinated person contracts the disease, it will not be as severe as those with unvaccinated individuals.

Belmonte attributed the success of the city’s QCProtekTODO Vaccination Program to its healthcare workers, staff and volunteers.
