There was a meeting between Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and the Marcos siblings on Saturday in the city, the mayor herself confirmed on Sunday.

The Marcos siblings – former Senator Ferdinand “Bong Bong” Jr. and concurrent Senator Maria Imelda Josefa “Imee” – met Sara, the daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte, fueling rumors of a possible Sara-Bong Bong tandem in 2022.

However, Sara did not disclose anything specific about the meeting.

“I confirm the picture taken yesterday here in Davao City,” she said in a statement released through the city information office. “I would like to thank Senator Imee and former Senator Bongbong Marcos for their birthday greetings, and my husband for the lunch he hosted.”

So far, the Davao City mayor and the former senator have not made any official statement on their plans for 2022.
