This follows the strong magnitude 6.3 quake that jolted Davao del Sur on Sunday. From Sunday’s magnitude 6.3 tremor to Monday’s 5.6 quake in the Davao region, Phivolcs recorded at least 19 more tremors with magnitudes ranging from 2.1 to 3.8 in Davao Del Sur and Davao Oriental.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the latest tremor to hit the Davao Region was recorded 67 kilometers east of Governor Genoroso Drive in Davao Oriental at 8:06 a.m. on Monday (February 8, 2021).

It was tectonic in origin. The instrumental intensities are as follows: Intensity II in Genegal Santos City in South Cotabato, and Alabel and Kiamba in Sarangani; and Intensity I in Koronadal, South Cotabato.

On the other hand, Sunday’s earthquake struck 6 kilometers southeast of Magsaysay around 12:22 p.m. It had a depth of 15 kilometers.
