The Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Saturday 67 of its personnel serving as frontliners have tested positive for the deadly coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Gen. Bernard Banac.

Banac said authorities are also monitoring 74 probable and 596 suspected patients who are showing symptoms of the highly contagious disease.

Banac said the PNP continues to implement its preventive measures to prevent other police frontliners from becoming infected.

In the Philippines, the Department of Health (DOH)  reported in their COVID-19 updates,  6,087 are now positive, with  397 deaths.  Some 516 patients have also reportedly recovered./Stacy Ang
