ABS-CBN 2 contract star Kim Chiu tearfully recounted her harrowing experience when her service van was shot by motorcycle-riding gunmen at the corner of CP Garcia street and Katipunan avenue.
In an interview, Chiu says she does not know why her van was shot. She does not have any enemy or any body who hates her. She was inside the van when the incident happened.
She recalled that when the gunmen peppered her van with eight shots, she was actually lying down. Chiu says she initially thought of reading her script for the shooting that day but decided to just rest since it was early in the morning.
” I was scared. Syempre, magtratrabaho alo, magigising akong pinagbabaril ang kotse ko. I don’t know..” says Chiu.
Chiu says that day was just a normal shooting day. She does not know why she was shot at, since she does not recall anybody with whom she got an argument or agreement with.
” Kung hindi ako humiga, tatamaan talaga ako.”
After the shooting incident, Chiu called her sister and requested for another driver to send her to ABS-CBN where she has a taping schedule. She even finished two scenes.
Due to the incident, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has deployed several cops in her employ at the same time, plans of setting up several checkpoints in the area to ensure the safety not just of Chiu but of other residents in the area.
Chiu’s van was shot at after it exited the La Vista gate along Katipunan avenue. It was turning left to C.P. Garcia avenue when the gunmen appeared and pumped bullets at the Hyundai van, some of which scattered the car’s windshield.
