Dayuhang apektado ng airport closure noong Linggo, exempted na sa pagbabayad ng overstaying fees –BI

MANILA, Philippines – Ayon sa Bureau of Immigration (BI)  kahapon, Miyerkules, exempted na  sa  pagbabayad  ng overstaying fees  ang mga dayuhan na apektado sa  airport closure noong Linggo  kasunod ng Taal Volcano eruption.

Sinabi pa ni Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente,   maraming flights ang  nakansela     dahil hindi makaalis ang mga eroplano dahil sa matinding ash fall na nakaapekto sa runways at airspace.

“This was a natural disaster that nobody wanted to experience,” said Morente.  “Hence to ease the burden of our tourists whose flights were cancelled during the closure, we are waiving the overstaying fee for those affected,” wika ni Morente.

Smanatala, nilinaw ni Port Operations Division Chief Grifton Medina na tanging  yung mga overstayed  dahil ang kanilang flight ay dapat na makalipad sa panahon na isinara ang paliparan  ang exempted  sa pagbabayad ng overstaying fee.

Exempted din diumano sa mga charges  ang mga dayuhan bastat magpakita lamang ng ilan sa mga sumusunod: boarding pass  sa panahon na apektado, outbound ticket  na may petsang January 12 o 13 2020 o nakanselang immigration departure stamp na may kaparehong petsa.

Habang ang mga matagal nang expired ang visa ay hindi kasama sa exemption ng penalties.(Benjie Cuaresma/Currentph.com)
