Manila, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has been vocal about Vice President Leni Robredo’s plan to disclose information in connection with the government’s war on drugs campaign.

The Vice President’s purported “revelation” will accordingly be based on her findings when she was co-chairman of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD).

According to PNP Deputy Chief for Operations P / Lt. Gen. Camilo Cascolan, the said issue is actually considered as “political issues.”

The PNP said it was about law enforcement that they are focusing on as well as their mandate to maintain peace and order.

They also said they would prevent the spread of crime and illegal drugs, which is also President Rodrigo Duterte’s main directive.

Cascolan emphasized that they would not get involved in any political debate on war on drugs but, the PNP would just continue their work.

Actually, Cascolan added, they do not really have to worry about Robredo’s revelation.

“The PNP is for law enforcement, we are for anti-criminality. If it’s political in nature we always do away with it. What we do is we just do our job, we enforce the law, we keep peace and order and we investigate crimes,” Cascolan said.

“Gaya ng sinabi ko sa inyo kami po ay gagawa lang po kung ano ang kautusan ng ating Presidente,” added Cascolan. (Marian Sinamban/IAMIGO/CNS)
