Duterte signs Malasakit Center Act 2019

on

Manila, Philippines — Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go has on Wednesday (04 November 2019) expressed gratitude to President Rodrigo Duterte for signing his pet project into law otherwise known as the Malasakit Center Act of 2019.

The law aims to institutionalize the establishment of Care Centers in the country targeted for the benefit of less fortunate people seeking government assistance.

Go made it clear that he is not trying to politicize the issue and he just accordingly wanted to give the people the service they need.

Go said those who wanted to get help from the government could go to the one-stop-shop.

He said representatives of the four government agencies would be relocated in just one place for easier access to those seeking help.

“Noon, Lunes pupunta sa city hall. Martes, pipila ka sa Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO). Miyerkules, Department of Health (DOH). Huwebes, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Biyernes, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth). Ubos na ang pamasahe nila, ubos pa ang panahon nila sa kapipila,” Go said. “Now we are putting them all in one place – Malasakit Center.”

Many of local government officials have already signified their intent to put the Centers in their area.

Go added that they will prioritize to put Malasakit Centers in 73 hospitals run by DOH. (Marian Sinamban/IAMIGO/CNS)
