At least 200 families are now homeless after an early afternoon fire gutted down their houses Friday (22 November 2019) in Zanzibar St., Barangay San Isidro, the Makati City Fire Station 4 reported.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation although investigators aver it accordingly started inside the room of resident Jerome Samosa.

Responding firemen estimated damages could reach P1 million to include personal belongings left inside the gutted 100 residential houses/shanties.

However, daylight and instantaneous response by the fire department resulted in zero casualties saved for slight injury on 8-year-old Mark Angelo Taulo who sustained an abrasion as his family scrambled for safety.

The first alarm was reported 1330H (1:30 p.m.) by SFO3 Carlito Ferrer and again at 1332 (1:32 p.m.) while the third and fourth alarms were charted at 1350 by Supt. Roy D. Quisto.

Quisto also declared “fire under control” at 1530H (3:30 p.m.) and “fire out” at exactly 1616H (4:16 p.m.). (Benjie Cuaresma/IAMIGO/CNS)
