Magnitude 4.0 quake rocks Eastern Samar

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude of 4.0 earthquake has rattled the Province of Eastern Samar on Tuesday morning, according to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

Earthquake struck at 2:47 a.m 83 kilometers southeast of Guiuan.

Phivolcs said that the tremor was of tectonic origin and had 17 kilometers depth of focus.

Phivolcs added that no afterschocks and damage were expected. (Cate Pallarco/IAMIGO/CNS)
