MANILA, Philippines — San Miguel Alab Pilipinas has prevailed over Gilas Pilipinas, 93-89, on Monday, 11 November 2019, at the Meralco Gym in Pasig City.

The win sort of atoned for Alab Pilipinas’ close 95-98 setback on their previous encounter with Southeast Asian Games-bound Gilas Pilipinas last November 4.

Roger Pogoy led the scoring for the national team with 14 points, while the twin towers of Japeth Aguilar and June Mar Fajardo had 12 points apiece.

Gilas had a balanced scoring in the loss as Matthew Wright added 11 points, Christian Standhardinger had 10 points, Vic Manuel chipped in 8 points, Marcio Lassiter and LA Tenorio finished with 7 points apiece for Gilas Pilipinas.

Nick King top-scored for Alab Pilipinas with 23 points.

Tuneup games are a part of the national team’s preparation, which will be aiming for the gold medal in the 30th Southeast Asian Games that the country will host from Nov. 30 to Dec. 11. (Lloyd Tagbago/IAMIGO/CNS)
