Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra will be the Guest of Honor and Speaker on the 83rd Founding Anniversary of the National Bureau of Investigation today with the theme “NBI @83: Exemplary Public Service, Our Identity, Our Legacy”. Held at the Diamond Hotel along Roxas Blvd. Manila, the whole-day anniversary celebration will begin with a Thanksgiving Mass at 8:00 a.m.
The formal program begins at 9:00 a.m. that will include the awarding of Plaque of Recognition to Outstanding Agents, Special Investigators and operating units and Service Awards to NBI employess who have been in the Bureau for 40 years.
Highlight of the celebration is the Anniversary message of the Secretary of Justice.
In the afternoon of the same day, there will be a Balik- Akademya, considered the Annual Alumni Homecoming of Agents and Special Investigators who graduated from the NBI Academy in Baguio City. The number of participants who will attend this gathering is estimated at 400.
The week-long celebration of the 83rd Founding Anniversary of the NBI commenced last Friday, November 8, thru a Sports activity in the morning at the newly-built Paco Arena and was followed by the NBI Employees’ Night in the same venue.
On Monday, November 11, right after the flag raising ceremony, NBI Director Dante A. Gierran and Assistant Director Medardo G. de Lemos led the Wreath Laying at the Wall of Honor to remember the NBI Agents and Special Investigators who have died in the line of duty.
