MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has given out due recognition for exemplary works and to investigators who died in line of duty.
The tribute coincided with the 83rd anniversary of the NBI.
According to NBI Director Dante Gierran, “it is important to remember their accomplishments as they have undergone a gradual change in the agency.”
In addition, several NBI employees received awards for their dedication to the job.
Slain mayor Navarro
Meanwhile, according to NBI spokesman Ferdinand Lavin, they have in their possession some documents regarding the murder of Clarin Misamis Occidental Mayor David Navarro in Cebu City.
According to Lavin, the documents came from NBI Cebu and PNP where they have completed the evidence but have yet to concretize profile of the suspect and the motive in the killing of mayor Navarro.
Lavin assures that they continue to focus on the case of the murdered mayor based on President Rodrigo Duterte’s order to resolve it immediately. (Cris Figueroa/IAMIGO/CNS)
